What to bring to the gym: a list of necessary things

When you go to the gym, it's important to bring everything you need to make your workout comfortable and efficient. To make sure you don't forget anything, we've prepared a list of things that will be useful during your workout.

1. Sportswear

Your clothes should be comfortable, breathable and suitable for the activity you are going to do. For training at the gym, it is usually recommended:

  • T-shirt or top made of quick-drying material
  • Leggings, sweatpants or shorts
  • Sports bra (for women)
  • Socks made from natural or technological materials

2. Sports shoes

The type of footwear depends on the training you are going to do:

  • For cardio and weight training: shoes with good cushioning
  • For yoga or pilates: non-slip socks or bare feet
  • For weightlifting: shoes with a stiff sole

3. Towel

Some gyms require you to bring your own towel to place on the equipment. It is recommended to bring two:

  • A small one to dry sweat
  • A great one for the post-workout shower

4. Water bottle

Staying hydrated is key to good performance. It is best to carry a reusable bottle so you always have clean water on hand.

5. Personal hygiene items

After training, you may need to:

  • Bath gel and shampoo
  • Deodorant
  • Comb or brush
  • Moisturizer or other skin care products

6. Healthy snack

If you won't have a chance to eat soon after your workout, bring a snack like:

  • A protein bar
  • Nuts
  • A banana or an apple

7. Fitness accessories (as needed)

Depending on the type of training, you may need:

  • Weight Lifting Gloves
  • Wristbands or elastic bandages
  • Resistance bands
  • Your own yoga mat

8. Headphones and mobile

Music can improve concentration and motivation. Wireless headphones are a great option for working out without annoying wires.

9. Fitness watch or bracelet

If you track your physical activity, heart rate or calories burned, don't forget to bring your device to monitor your workout.

10. Sports bag

To carry everything in an organized manner, choose a spacious but compact bag with several compartments.
